1. What this device is — and isn’t

InfraBeam is a personal-care wellness device. It is not a medical device, is not FDA-cleared, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical conditions.

2. Eye safety

  • Do not look directly into the lens at any time. Red and near-infrared LEDs can be uncomfortable or potentially harmful when shone directly into the eye.
  • Do not point the lens at anyone else’s eyes — children or adults.
  • When using the device near the face, keep the lens directed at the skin, not toward the eyes, and consider closing your eyes during the session.
  • If you wear contact lenses or have any pre-existing eye condition, talk to your eye-care professional before using a red or near-infrared light device near the face.

3. Who should consult a healthcare provider first

We’re not in a position to give medical advice, but it’s a good idea to check with a qualified healthcare provider before using InfraBeam IB-1 if any of the following apply:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have a history of skin cancer, melanoma, or any photosensitive skin condition (for example, lupus, porphyria, polymorphic light eruption).
  • You take photosensitizing medication. Common examples include certain antibiotics (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, sulfonamides), some diuretics, some NSAIDs, isotretinoin, St John’s wort, and certain antidepressants. This is not an exhaustive list — ask your pharmacist or doctor if you’re unsure.
  • You have an active infection, open wound, or rash on the area you intend to use the device on.
  • You have an implanted medical device or any chronic medical condition.
  • You are using the device near a tattoo, mole, or pigmented area you have concerns about.
  • You are using the device near the thyroid (front of the neck) — avoid this area, or speak with your healthcare provider first.

4. Who should not use the device

  • Children under 18 years old.
  • Anyone who has been advised by a qualified healthcare provider to avoid red or near-infrared light exposure.
  • Anyone unwilling or unable to follow the basic safety instructions in this document.

5. How to use the device safely

  • Use the device only as described in the quick-start guide.
  • Keep sessions short. The built-in timer is set to three minutes per session for a reason — that’s a sensible upper bound for a single area.
  • Hold the device a few inches from the skin. Do not press the hot lens directly against your skin.
  • The device may feel warm to the touch after several back-to-back sessions. If it feels uncomfortably hot, stop using it and let it cool.
  • If you notice any redness, irritation, dizziness, headache, or any other unexpected reaction, stop using the device and consult a qualified healthcare provider.
  • Do not use the device while bathing, showering, near water, or in a steamy bathroom. The device is not water-resistant.
  • Do not use the device while driving or operating machinery.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children and pets.

6. Battery and charging

  • Charge the device only with the included USB-C cable and a compliant 5 V / 2 A USB power source (a standard phone wall adapter works).
  • Do not charge the device on damaged cables, in damp environments, or under flammable material.
  • Do not attempt to open the device or replace the internal battery. The battery is sealed inside the steel housing.
  • If the device shows any sign of physical battery damage (swelling, leaking, persistent heat at the body, smell of burning), stop using it immediately, disconnect from any power source if safe to do so, and email support@buyinfrabeam.com for guidance on safe disposal.
  • At end of life, recycle the device through a household-battery recycling program. Don’t put lithium-ion devices in regular trash.

7. Cleaning and care

  • Wipe the stainless-steel body and the glass lens with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • If needed, slightly dampen the cloth with plain water — never spray water directly on the device.
  • Do not use solvents, acetone, alcohol wipes, or abrasive cleaners on the lens. They can damage the lens coating over time.
  • Store the device in the included pouch when not in use, away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  • Operating temperature: 50 °F – 95 °F (10 °C – 35 °C). Storage temperature: 32 °F – 113 °F (0 °C – 45 °C).

8. When to stop using and seek help

Stop using the device and consult a qualified healthcare provider if you experience any of the following:

  • Persistent redness, swelling, blistering, or pain at the area of use.
  • Headache, dizziness, eye discomfort, or visual changes after a session.
  • Any allergic-type reaction (itching, rash, hives) after a session.
  • Any concern at all that you’d like a professional opinion on.

If you experience a medical emergency, call your local emergency number first.

9. Reporting a safety concern

We want to hear about any safety issue with the device — not just to help you, but so we can investigate and improve. Email support@buyinfrabeam.com with the subject “Safety report” and include your order number, a description of what happened, and any relevant photos.
